А вот эта работа очень зацепила. Переслушал два раза, и, видимо, еще не раз переслушаю. И мрачная, и в то же время такая легкая светлая музыка.



After a six track EP (Own Management), Metamorphine is the offical debut album by Leandra, who is also known for playing keyboards in Jesus on Extasy (under the name Ophelia Dax) and her recent collaboration with Letzte Instanz (on their album Das Weisse Lied and the following tour), from which Oli Schmidt played guitar on Leandra's album.

Leandra creates her own typical sound, different from the bands she's in or worked with and it's no surprise there's a leading role for the piano, as Leandra has been playing since she was a little girl living in Russia; and besides pop and rock, a lot of classical elements appear on Metamorphine.

In fact Leandra creates her own world, described as "Leandrasphere" in which she is a wondering young girl as well as an old and wise woman. She managed to let her voice sound like a lot of different moods and her songs are original, but not the easy kind of music to listen to and it's an album many will have to get used to.

'The Art of Dreaming', a duet with Zeraphine singer Sved Friedrich, would be an excellent single choice because it has all the depth Leandra's songs have; but is a great and not too difficult popsong in the first place. 'Lie to me' and 'Song of Venus' (which was recorded live some years ago) are beautiful ballads, while all different influences come together in 'Lullaby' (with Jesus On Extasy guitarist Chai Deveraux). 'Naked eyes' and 'Tyberi folla' are sung in a fantasy language which sounds a bit like Russian. The best has been saved to close the album: 'Inverted mirrors of decay'; a typical piece of Leandra's world translated into a song. Good debut album.

And what should be the best description in terms of musical styles? Well, we can discuss that!
