Release Notes:
Guess who's back in the motha fuckin' house with a big fat dick for your
motherfuckin' mouth. Heavy Heavy Low Low's new album on New Weathermen/Ferret
few days early. Enjoy
We have no musical training, we just try to make our songs as weird as possible?
drummer Christopher explains. Hard to believe that the guys in Heavy Heavy Low
Low are not free jazz composers or classically trained metal scholars when you
hear them attack their instruments. The band create a dense, layered collage of
noise imbued with the speediness of hardcore punk, the low crushing tones of
death metal, the loose and dissonant playfulness of indie rock and arrangements
that hit multiple places at once or dissolve into waves of chaos. As complex as
the band?s sound is, it is obviously more complex trying to explain it on paper.
Hailing from the San Jose area of CA, the band who hover at the tender age of 19
on average is made up of brother/rhythm section Christopher (drums) and Andrew
(bass) as well as Danny (guitar/vocals), Ryan (guitar) and Robbie (vocals).
Forming in early 2004, the band started as more of a screamo unit while finding
their own sound. ?It took about a year after we formed until we found what we
consider our true sound? says Christopher ?we wrote a song called Inhalant abuse
that combined all the ideas we were formulating and from then on, we hit our
stride.?
Armed with their signature arsenal of songs, the band has completed three
national tours and has not been home since last August. While never finding a
perfect match on stage, Heavy Heavy Low Low has toured with such bands as The
Fall Of Troy, The Number 12 Looks Like You, Ed Gein, The Warriors, Protest The
Hero and The Blackout Pact. With a reputation for a stage show as electrifying
as their sonics, the band has at once confused many people in the hardcore,
metal and emo scene and created their own following composed of people who
follow those genres. As the inaugural signing of the newly created New
Weathermen imprint (as part of Ferret Music), the label was actually formed
around the band. Nick Storch, CEO of the label and booking agent for such acts
as Atreyu, Coheed And Cambria, Unearth and As I Lay Dying was introduced by
Storch by Thomas Erak of the band The Fall Of Troy who are of the same mind
musically. ?Thomas thought I would enjoy this band and I heard their demo and
was blown away. I wished that someone would sign them so I could work them so I
started my own label.
Heavy Heavy Low Low has just returned from Seattle, where they were recording
with Casey Bates (Figure Four, Gatsby?s American Dream) and Tom P. The resulting
full-album to be entitled Everything?s Watched, Everyone?s Watching will be
released on New Weathermen Records this September.
