Italian band formed in 1966, in Marghera, Venice, originally by the members Aldo Tagliapietra, Nino Smeraldi (guitars), Claudio Galietti (bass and guitars) and Marino Rebeschini (drums). Initially, they followed a pop-psychedelic line, remembering some britanic bands like Moody Blues, Fairport Convention and Beatles. In 1968, before the release of their fisrt full-lenght album, "Ad Gloriam", Rebeschini left the band and was replaced by Michi del Rossi, at the same time where the keayboardist Tony Pagliuca join the band.

In 1970, with the rise of Progressive Rock, they finally decide to join the genre with the album "L' Aurora", since now they lose the members Galietti and Smeraldi. Now in their Progressive era, they begin to gain success around Europe, mainly in UK, also winning two gold records. In 1971, they release Collage, wich shows greater maturity in their compositions. In 1972, with the album "Uomo di Pezza", they record with a orchestra for the first time.

In 1973, they release one of their masterpieces, "Ferona and Sorona", whose context talks about the interaction between two distinct planets. The album were produced with Peter Hammill, pianist from Van Der Graff Generator, that released your english version in 1974. However, he dissociates his name from the project. In 1974, they release "Contrappunti", repeating the same success from their previous albums, and "In Concerto", that was their fisrt live record.

After plus some other issues, the group disbanded in the early 80's, but returning in 1986. In 1992, keyboardist Tony Pagliuca left the band to follow solo carrer, being replaced by Michele Bon.
